Marketplace Distributors  

All refund requests with any transaction must be made directly to the Merchant. We have no responsibility for making any refunds; however, Marketplace Distributors will facilitate the communication, if required, between you and the Merchant.  

Merchants may refund you in connection with a Transaction for returned goods, cancelled services, or where the Merchant has agreed with you to make an adjustment to the price of those goods or services. The Merchant may use the PIN Network to provide the refund up until seven days after the initial payment for the Transaction was made.  

The Merchant may use any means of payment refund, and that process would be an agreement between you and the Merchant. 

You are responsible for ensuring that the Merchant:  

  • Authorises a transfer of payment for the correct Monetary Value of the refund;  
  • Selects the correct information for your Account when the refund is being transferred.    

 

After seven days, we cannot facilitate any refunds. Therefore, you must deal directly with the Merchant to receive any required refunds by a different method in such a case.   

Please note that Shipping will not be refunded.

The Consumer Guarantees Act sets out minimum standards for goods sold on the Marketplace Distributors website. In the event that goods sold are defective, faulty or not fit for purpose, the Seller has an obligation to repair, replace or refund.

The Fair Trading Act is designed to protect the customer from being misled, either intentionally or unintentionally. This applies to all aspects of the promotion and sale of goods and services, including pricing; where the product was made; where the product is from; the meeting of New Zealand safety standards; availability of products in-store and the sales techniques used. The Commerce Commission enforces the Fair Trading Act 1986.

Marketplace Distributors Merchants  

Marketplace Distributors will facilitate the communication about a refund up until seven days after the initial payment for the Transaction was made. After that, the customer will make direct contact with the Merchant. 

You and the User may agree upon any refund method that suits both the Merchant and the customer.   

You are responsible for ensuring that you:  

  • Authorise a transfer of the correct Monetary Value of the refund;   
  • Suppose you refund the User the Total Monetary Value of the Transaction. In that case, such transaction fees are a cost to you, which Marketplace Distributors does not refund. 
  • Any refund made from your Account is deemed authorised by you, and Marketplace Distributors has no ongoing obligation to the Merchant or the Customer.

We are not responsible for any transfer of refund to the incorrect Account due to incorrect account information being used for the transfer. We are also not responsible if you refund the wrong Monetary Value. In any such case, you must address the issue with the Customer directly.
